At RYTE, we talk a lot about the third party lab testing we conduct on our CBD oil tinctures. Third party testing is important not just for CBD products, but also for food supplements, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products in order to ensure safety for consumers. Many regulatory bodies exist across the globe to ensure that consumer products comply with safety regulations by requiring an unaffiliated third party to test the efficacy, potency and safety of consumer products.
As of today, it is not yet required for CBD manufacturers to test their products with a third party. However, reputable CBD companies are doing this anyways. When you see a CBD company testing its products with third-party labs, it can help you to confirm the integrity of the company and the quality of the product. At RYTE, we believe in the potential of CBD to help people. That’s why we test our oil tinctures with unaffiliated third party labs: to ensure the utmost safety of our customers.
If you don’t see the third-party lab tested certification on a CBD tincture, you may want to exercise caution. Third party labs test for the presence of substances like pesticides, solvents, terpenes & cannabinoid profiles (think of this as making sure that the product contains the amount of CBD claimed and does not exceed 0.3% THC), and heavy metal contamination. Even though it isn’t required yet per se, third party lab testing should give you some peace of mind about the products you are purchasing.
